Kamala Harris Raised $540 Million Since Her Presidential Campaign Started

Kamala Harris confessed that she and her team have raised $540 million in less than one month since the launch of her presidential campaign. Most of the donations kept flowing in during the Democratic National Convention held last week.

The donations flowed in on Sunday when her campaign, the Democratic National Convention, was conducted. Her campaign manager, Jen O’Malley Dillion, released a memo in which he stated that $82 million came from the convention last week. The rest was a symbol of her powerful candidacy in the current presidential campaign.

Dillon said, “This is the most ever for any presidential campaign in this time span”.

Kamala showed interest in becoming a candidate for president on July 21 when Joe Biden had to step down after being tested positive for Covid.

Joe Biden’s stepping down also included pressure from fellow Democrats who were concerned about his cognitive abilities to run for the presidency. The debate was initiated on June 27 when he spoke against Republican Donald Trump.

Kamala Harris’ views about Trump

Kamala Harris is of the view that Trump has to put a lot of effort into keeping the media spotlight on him. Harris’ candidacy has already created a buzz in the political momentum as it was a quick decision after Biden’s departure.

Earlier this week, Harris and her vice presidential running fellow, Tim Waltz took their campaign on a bus tour for the White House. The bus went through Georgia in search of support from common people as she looks forward to the November 5 elections.

Since the launch of her presidential campaign, especially after Kamala accepted the nomination for US president, excitement has soared. 100,000 red, blue and white balloons were floated into the air to celebrate her candidacy.

A black woman from Maryland, Charlene Dukes’ eyes were filled with tears of happiness as she said, “It was when she spoke about her family, her upbringing, which is so similar to many of us”.

Dukes explained that Harris and her aspirations resonated with most of the common people of the US as many are not born with a silver spoon in their mouth. The black woman proclaimed that one has to go through the struggles of life himself before admitting to the fact that other people are feeling the same.

The prospect of selecting a woman of color as US president is a unique phenomenon in the history of US politics, she added. It has not been witnessed before ever in its 248-year history that left her “euphoric”.

Harris was satisfied when she saw people welcoming her with open arms and warm hearts. The party leaders see her as a historic figure and “president of joy”. They are hopeful that Harris would be the one ending Trump’s “politics of darkness”.

On the other hand, Trump is asking his supporters to “Fight! Fight! Fight!” while Harris is content that “When we fight, we win!”

Kamala Harris knows that she is about to face tough competitors and an even tougher crowd. After six weeks of accepting presidential candidacy, she gained a fragile lead in opinion polls that appeared as her final sprint in the race.

Some critics are still reviewing her position as slightly weaker as Harris has not yet been able to outline detailed plans that she wishes to pursue once she is elected as President of the United States.

Issues like climate crisis, crime rate and immigration are some of the most notable ones at the moment. However, she has plans for a detailed interview in her schedule that would shed light on her leadership style, changed policy positions and stress upon gender equality in distinguished leadership roles like the presidency.

Trump Israel Palestine Peace Deal: What It Means In Trump’s Second Term?

Published

on

Trump Israel Palestine peace deal

After getting elected for the second time, Trump Israel Palestine peace deal remains the highlight of the to-do list that 47th President of the United States had to deal with. Even the rest of the world wants to see how Donald Trump would handle currently the world’s most intense issue.

Since everyone is aware of the US-Israel alliance, the Middle East peace plan remains a bold but risky wager. Trump-era conflict resolution needs to be strong enough to favor both sides and not only for its close ally Israel.

The happiest person after Trump getting elected: Israeli PM

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was the happiest person on Earth when Trump got elected in the recent US elections in 2024.  In 2020, when Benjamin congratulated Joe Biden upon becoming US president, Trump was not happy with this act.

Trump Israel Palestine peace deal

This time, Benjamin did not wait for Trump’s victory and congratulated him as a “greatest comeback” before the final results were out. Probably, he would have thought that this could be Israel’s chance to conduct all of the long-thought plans of “evil” with the greatest ally in power.

Will the Trump Israel Palestine peace deal would actually take place?

Despite knowing Trump Israel relations, there still exists a possibility of renewed Trump Middle East Policy. During his campaign, Trump was always caught promoting a message of peace, which hinted toward the Trump administration’s peace efforts.

It is now time for Trump to take action on what he had promised. However, Trump appears to endorse indirectly Israel’s intent of “finishing the job” against Hamas. Still, Trump Palestine stance surfaced regarding his ambitious developments in Gaza but no clarifications on postwar recovery in the region.

Trump’s foreign policy agenda

It is believed that Trump’s foreign policy agenda would resume from where it had left in 2020. However, American foreign policy seems to be stumbling as mishaps come one after the other. Israel’s intensifying political war against Hamas and Hezbollah could raise question marks on its signature slogans “America First” and “Make America Great Again”.

Remaining strong on his stance, Trump mentioned several times in his election campaign speeches a pledge to “stop the war”, which raised some curtains about his Middle East diplomacy moves. Till January, when the Trump administration would be in full running, there is a likelihood for a comprehensive cease-fire attempt.

How Trump peace deal is possible?

Trump peace deal mainly resides in his vision of regional order with the idea of Arab-Israel normalization. It should be noted that deeply rooted within this vision is the sidelining of Palestinians’ rights and giving Israel more freedom in their actions.

The reason for saying so is Trump and Biden’s broader strategies regarding the Middle East region, regardless of their personal differences. Trump’s abrupt withdrawal from Syria and Biden’s quick exit from Afghanistan are the two pieces of evidence that the US wants to have direct involvement in the issues but without giving any viable solutions.

Now with Trump’s second term, there is still an unpredictability about Trump’s vows for peace in the region which he hasn’t clarified how. Trump’s erratic decision-making tactics do not justify his vision whether it is achievable or not.

Even when Trump said that if he had been in the White House before, he would have solved the Russia-Ukraine war in one day. Keeping that determination in view, it remains uncertain how Trump would take war-infused matters ahead and ‘how’ he would manage to devise a plan for that.

What do Trump administration nominees say about Israel Palestine tension?

To minimize Israel-Palestine tension, Trump spoke with sympathy during his last weeks of Presidential campaigns to Arab Americans and Muslims all over the globe. This is the most affected and enraged community by the Israel-Gaza war that has now stretched to Lebanon and Iran.

He said,

“I will fix the problems caused by [Vice President] Kamala Harris and [President] Joe Biden and stop the suffering and destruction in Lebanon. I want to see the Middle East return to real peace, a lasting peace.”

On several instances, Trump was seen supporting Israeli-Palestinian negotiations, his newly elected administration’s nominees, however, tell a different story. They predict that US military and diplomatic assistance for Israel might continue and even assist in the illegal Israeli settlements on West Banks in Gaza, ensuring a further deepening of Israel’s occupancy.

The selection of Biden for nominees of his administration gives their reasons themselves:

  • Marco Rubio is nominated to be the secretary of state now who, in 2016, emphasized at a Republican debate that he would “stand firmly on the side of Israel”.
  • Pete Hegseth is nominated to be the secretary of defense who, in 2018, was the strongest proponent for demolishing Al-Aqsa Mosque, the holiest place of Muslims, and the construction of a “Third Temple”; a long-standing goal of Israel.
  • Mike Huckabee is nominated to be the US ambassador to Israel who is a strong supporter of “Greater Israel”, which is a reference to an evident annexation of Israel into Palestinian territory.
  • Elise Stefanik is nominated to be the ambassador to the UN who went to Israel Knessek in May 2024 to address Israel’s war as a moral crusade against anti-Semitism.
  • Mike Waltz is nominated to be the national security adviser who recently posted on social media that it might be Israel’s last chance to exterminate all of Iran and its nuclear program. He stated in his post whether Biden or Harris pressured Israel to not use its full force in doing so.

With the selection of such people, Trump Israel Palestine peace arrangement seems vague, almost impossible. US-Palestine relations hadn’t been strong previously, which now are supporting more of the fact that the United States is taking people on its side who are strong advocates of Israel, making Trump peace deal doubtful.

Speculations about Trump being even worse than Biden

For Palestine and the Middle East, there are strong speculations that Trump would be worse than Joe Biden when it comes to striking a Middle East peace plan. During Biden’s era, the President did nothing much to save Palestine except infuse more military and weapons into Israel’s war.

The same seems to be coming true in Trump’s second term. With possible appointments of the above-mentioned nominees in major positions of the government, the US seems to be adopting a bipartisan foreign policy that would only give rise to a fundamental destruction of the Palestinian victims with greater genocide.

What is American Bipartisan policy?

There are three main elements of American bipartisan policy.

  • Trump-Biden policy aims to eliminate any possibility of the US supporting a “two-state solution” to the war where Palestinians could enjoy their freedom, self-determination, and sovereignty.
  • The second element of the said policy is the vigorous pursuit of Arab normalization through the Abraham Accords. With this, the US would be able to normalize relations between Israel and Saudi Arabia, inculcate an ideation of Israel’s full sovereignty in the minds of Arabs, end any likelihood of Palestinian claims for justice and restitution, and even deny the right of Palestinian refugees along with their complete demolition of the refugee status.
  • The third element is the continuation of restrictions upon restoration of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) in which Iran is contained, its nuclear program is confined and is even isolated politically and economically.
Trump Israel Palestine peace deal

It is further expected with the annexation of the West Bank, the US might strengthen Israel’s economic and security integration into Palestine under the pretext of “peace, security, and prosperity”, which is a clear expulsion of the Palestinian masses. It would weaken Iran, its allies, and even China.

Wrapping Up

Coming up with a prudent approach seems to be the most viable option by creating a balance between the regional actors, which Trump is expected to look into. All eyes are on how Trump foresees to de-escalate the situation where the US would keep volatility down and play a vital role in the future.

FAQs

Q1: What is Trump’s proposed Israel-Palestine peace deal?

Trump’s proposed peace deal, often referred to as the “Deal of the Century,” aimed to address the Israel-Palestine conflict. It focused on territorial compromises, economic incentives for Palestinians, and recognition of Israeli settlements, but it was widely criticized for heavily favoring Israel.

Q2: How did Trump’s Middle East peace plan differ from previous efforts?

Trump’s plan prioritized Israel’s security and sovereignty while sidelining key Palestinian demands, such as the right of return and full statehood. Unlike earlier efforts, the plan sought normalization of Arab-Israel relations through the Abraham Accords without resolving the Palestinian issue first.

Q3: What role does the Abraham Accords play in Trump’s peace strategy?

The Abraham Accords were agreements between Israel and several Arab nations, facilitated by the Trump administration, to normalize relations. While they enhanced regional cooperation, they did not address core Palestinian grievances, raising concerns about marginalization.

Q4: What challenges does Trump face in achieving a peace deal in his second term?

Challenges include:

  • Deep mistrust between Israelis and Palestinians.
  • Palestinian rejection of one-sided policies.
  • Regional tensions involving Iran and its allies.
  • Criticism of U.S. support for Israeli settlements.

Q5: How has Trump’s administration influenced U.S.-Palestine relations?

Trump’s administration cut aid to Palestine, closed the Palestinian mission in Washington, and recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. These actions strained relations and drew criticism for undermining prospects for peace.

Conflict Between Middle East And Ukraine Remains A Highlight Of Biden Speech At The United Nations

Conflict between Middle East and Ukraine

The conflict between Middle East and Ukraine remains the highlighted topic of Biden speech at the United Nations. His speech would be a farewell address at the UN General Assembly on Tuesday.

Hezbollah fighters groups in Lebanon and Israel are moving towards an all-out war due to Israel’s aggressive war strategies against Hamas after almost one year. Israel had undertaken pugnacious tactics like pager detonations in Lebanon and massive airstrikes that have resulted in several deaths and thousands of injuries.

Lebanon wants to take revenge on Israel, which is creating an unsettling atmosphere of war for the common public in Lebanon. This is the reason for Biden addressing the battle between Middle East and Ukraine along with the 17-month-old war in Sudan for highlighting a request for Western allies’ support.

Biden’s request for Kyiv’s support

Support for Kyiv would be requested in Biden speech at the United Nations regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022. His speech marks its own significance as he would be the last high-profile personality in the international community to ask for support for Ukraine.

Such a support would be absent if Donald Trump gains victory in the upcoming elections who had previously scoffed at the very idea of Ukraine’s support. If Trump overthrows Kamala Harris, then the support would be in doubt.

Biden does not support war, neither as a conflict between Middle East and Ukraine, nor anywhere else

Hence, President Biden wanted to make the most of his farewell address at the United Nations to rejuvenate US relations on an international level. He wanted to ensure that the US does not support any kind of war anywhere in the world and extract the country from the “forever wars” agenda, as was in Afghanistan and Iraq that devoured the American foreign policy for the past two decades.

Biden would be able to achieve both goals on such a big platform with his farewell speech. However, his administration still needs to rethink the biggest battle between Middle East and Ukraine which originated from day one of World War II.

Pentagon’s announcement

On Monday, the Pentagon announced sending additional US troops to the Middle East as a backing of the already present 40,000 in the region amidst the rising tensions. On the other hand, the White House emphasized taking hold of the time and asked Israel and Hezbollah to ceasefire and step back.

The White House press secretary, Karine Jean-Pierre said, “It’s in everyone’s interest to resolve it quickly and diplomatically”. The statement was given before Joe Biden left on Monday for his UN speech from New York.

According to two senior administration officials, Biden administration representatives will be having discussions with peers outside the United Nations over proposals they think could stop the bloodshed between Israel and Lebanon from getting worse.

The officials declined to provide any more information on the possible junctions and spoke on condition of anonymity to disclose private deliberations. According to one of the diplomats, other nations were eager to provide suggestions for easing tensions.

Biden’s previous views on Middle East conditions

Biden was hopeful about the conditions of the Middle East a year ago when he spoke at the United Nations. He mentioned the region as a “sustainable, integrated Middle East” in the making.

At that time, Israel was making up for its economic conditions and collaborating with Arab countries which apparently seemed fruitful with the implementation of the Abraham Accords. Israel signed the agreement with Bahrain, Morocco, and the United Arab Emirates when the Trump administration was in control.

Moreover, Biden would also make his stance about Western support for Ukraine in his ongoing war with Russia. It was Biden who helped Ukraine with weapons and economic aid against Russia for an international coalition when Russian President Vladimir Putin called for an assault on Ukraine in 2022.

Showing Off Favorite Foods Is The New Strategy Kamala Harris Used To Reposition Herself

Published

on

favourite food

Showing off her favorite foods is the new strategy Kamala Harris has adopted to excel in the tight electoral battle she is facing as a new Democratic Presidential nominee against Donald Trump in the upcoming US elections. Making connections with the voters by repositioning herself and clearly making herself visible is a chance to redefine herself.

For some reason, Kamala remained a little unknown to the American people as she had never had an opportunity to openly connect with people. She is somewhat of an unknown political figure to many.

Now, after becoming a nominee, high criticism comes from the Republicans who ask for more interviews and more opinions from Kamala as a repositioning strategy for her own identity.

Currently, in the position of Vice president, she has thought of a better way to connect with people. She wants to show them that she is a regular human being just like them. She likes to cook, share personal details of her childhood, and show food that she loves.

Details of her childhood and love for cooking

It has pleasantly come as a surprise that Harris is a foodie and likes to cook herself. She told that she had made breakfast including pancakes and bacon for her niece, 6 years old, and daughter, 8 years old. She also mentioned that it was a July morning when Biden announced his dropping out of the presidential race.

Her favorite food: Doritos and tortilla chips

Kamala Harris seized the opportunity to make personal connections with her voters and let them that cheese Doritos is one of her beloved foods. With the same aim of connecting with people, she mentioned that she likes to munch tortilla chips when in the mood for a snack. She thought sharing small and amusing details with people would instigate their interest in their democratic candidate.

Not only that, she likes washing bathtubs with collard green, just like every other regular American would do. She shared her recipe for collard greens too, which was an unusual method. She remarked that one of her friends asked her to make the greens at a yearly Christmas Eve party. She summarized her summary of Mashama Bailey, a chef at The Grey restaurant in downtown Savannah.

Her love for caramel cakes!

She gets excited for a caramel cake! She showed this when she stopped at Dottie’s Market in Savannah and asked about the cake that she saw on the counter. She was there for a campaign bus tour in southern Georgia last week.

The employee answered that it was a chocolate caramel cake. She immediately asked for a slice saying, “Caramel is my favourite”. She looked at the description excitedly as a child would and loved to see the cake slice served to her with white frosting and caramel on top and drizzling on the sides.

Her interest in music…

In another instance, she tried another repositioning tactic saying, “I was in a band when I was your age” when she was visiting Liberty County High School in Georgia. She met the marching band practice people and talked with them about the initiation of leadership at a young age.

She ensured that it is the hard work and consistency that makes “beautiful music”. She explained that it requires hours of practice and believing in yourself that ‘you can do it’. In the end, the hard work pays off when you hit the right note to make a perfect tune, she said.

She did not mention what instrument she played, however, one of her staff members told the media later that Kamala Harris played the French horn, xylophone, and kettle drums. He revealed that she “couldn’t stick with one” instrument.

Making personal connections with voters is her new repositioning strategy

The executive director of the Pennsylvania Center for Women and Politics and Chatham University, Dana Brown, said, “She is trying to show that she is a full person beyond just her policy proposals”.

Honesty and integrity are the two desirable virtues in an electoral candidate that the people of a country want to see in their next leader. It makes a natural transition to becoming a public figure with trust and confidence. It surely is the prime repositioning strategy that Kamala seems to follow at present.
